Rowan County Tourism Development Authority Railwalk Pavilion - Renovation and Adaptive Reuse

Salisbury, NC

RBSA worked with the Rowan County TDA to save the front wall of a former rail spur adjacent warehouse. This nearly 100-year-old brick façade was stabilized and used as a feature to create a new entry link into the Railwalk area’s growing entertainment and dining district. RBSA’s design saved the historic front wall, demolished the remaining warehouse structure and added a new heavy timber framed, open air pavilion to blend in with as well as, highlight the character of historic railroad warehouse vernacular.
