RBSA began work with the Board by joining in a tour of two existing facilities and evaluating the positives and negatives of each as well as determining the goals for the new Salisbury facility. Site Selection was evaluated using early schematics and RBSA submitted and coordinated all necessary Zoning Approvals and Technical Review Committee approvals with the City of Salisbury. RBSA also coordinated all necessary approvals from Rowan County Building Inspections Dept, NC Dept of Environmental Quality (storm water) and NC Dept of Transportation (new driveway permit) and the project was publicly bid in February 2017.

RBSA coordinated designs and the construction documents with the Board selected vendors supplying specific items and finishes. The facility was designed to create an attractive and eye-catching front on busy Jake Alexander Blvd. The front elevation boasts red lighting and red signage and a large storefront entrance that leads the customer into an open ceiling, light filled retail space. The Sales Counter was set on a raised platform and highlighted by a suspended metal ceiling. Both the Break Room and the Staff Office include a Mirror Glass Window allowing for one-way visual monitoring of the Retail Area. The Warehouse space includes a Loading Dock as well as a “Point of Sale” counter with a Door directly adjacent to the Parking Lot.
